Dr Joseph KAMTCHUM TATUENE is a Cameroonian physician, neurologist and epidemiologist, specialising in stroke and atherosclerosis. He has extensive international experience in clinical practice and research, gained in Cameroon, Switzerland, England, Malawi and Canada. His scientific work has been recognised with numerous awards and distinctions. He currently works as a clinician-scientist at both the University of Oxford in England and the Higher Institute for Scientific and Medical Research in Cameroon. He is founder and president of Stroke Action, an association working to improve stroke research and care in Africa, and to raise public awareness of stroke and key preventive measures. He has pledged to donate a third of the proceeds from the sale of this book to support the activities of the association.
